On July 3rd, the Lincoln County Democrats welcomed Senator Claire McCaskill at a campaign stop at the Landmark restaurant in Troy, MO.
In front of an enthusiastic crowd, Senator McCaskill spoke on a wide variety of topics such as saving the Affordable Care Act, her hard work on Veteran's issues, the retirement of Supreme Court Justice Kennedy, and legislation she's sponsored that has become law through working across the aisle with the Republican majority. In particular, she expressed concern for the fate of the Affordable Care Act should Attorney General Josh Hawley win in November. We share her concerns on this, and other issues.
Always a tough opponent and vigorous campaigner, Senator McCaskill will be traveling the state and visiting not just Democratic strongholds, but forgotten corners of the state where she traditionally gets little support. She wants every corner of the state to know she's representing all of us, not just a chosen few.
We thank Senator McCaskill for taking the time to visit with us here in Lincoln County, and will be doing our part to ensure her re-election in November. For those wishing to volunteer their time and money to make sure we have the representation in the U.S. Senate we deserve, please contact Senator McCaskill's campaign at https://clairemccaskill.com/take-action/.
Below are candid photos of this exciting day.
Folks arrived to listen to Senator McCaskill.....
and waited patiently for Senator McCaskill to make her appearance.
And Claire is in the house!
Good at communicating her thoughts and ideas, Senator McCaskill took questions and listened with care, one of the most important parts of her job.
While answering a question, the senator amused herself......
as well as the crowd.
After an hour of informative discussion, it was time for Senator McCaskill to move on to her next engagement.
With much applause and waving, we bid her adieu. Thank you, Senator McCaskill, for taking the time to engage with us here in Lincoln County. We wish you the best, and will be working hard to ensure you'll still be our senator for six more years!
