Candidate for and Current Holder of the Office of Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds
Dottie D. Crenshaw is currently the Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds. The daughter of the late Curtis and Delores Robinson, Dottie has resided in Elsberry her entire life, and is a graduate of Elsberry High School. Dottie has been blessed with two children, Neeli Crenshaw Langdon of Kansas City and J. Trent Crenshaw of Foley, and three beautiful granddaughters, Julia, Ella and Mila. Ms. Crenshaw is a member of the First Christian Church in Elsberry, where she conducts Children’s Church each Sunday morning.
Dottie's work experience includes 6½ years in the Lincoln County Assessor’s Office, 4 years as Elsberry City Collector and 23 years as Production Manager at U. S. Title. Her understanding of real estate transactions and titles have been a tremendous asset in her performance as Lincoln County Recorder of Deeds for the last 16 years.
As Recorder, Ms Crenshaw has developed websites to assist the public in remote searches and initiated e-recording of real estate documents. She purchased an operating system for efficient recording and reporting. A total of 11,548 documents were recorded in 2017. 311 Marriage Licenses were issued. Both websites generated $30,842.16 in general revenue for 2017.
All marriage licenses and military discharges are entered into the Recorder’s database. This provides efficiency in assisting the public.
Education is a high priority of Dottie’s. She has completed 320 hours of continuing education in her field. Dottie continues improvement to her office. She stated, “Technology plays an important role in our lives. Therefore, I promise to advance my office in this field.”
